Program 03 — Healthcare & Recovery

Children Under Poor Health Conditions Healthcare & Recovery Support

Every child deserves the chance to grow up healthy. CMHDA connects sick and vulnerable children to the care they need — covering referrals, hospital costs, recovery support, and building lasting health partnerships for every child we serve.

Understanding the Crisis

Children's Healthcare

Children's healthcare encompasses a wide range of services focused on the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional well-being of children — from birth through adolescence.

It includes preventive care like immunisations and nutrition support, management of illnesses and accidents, diagnostic services for developmental disabilities, and a strong emphasis on the child's environment and family context.

The ultimate goal is to promote healthy growth and development, enhance quality of life, and reduce preventable child deaths. CMHDA steps in where the health system falls short — ensuring no child is left to suffer from a preventable or treatable condition.

Our Response

Our Four Objectives

CMHDA bridges the gap between a sick child and the care they need — at every stage of the healthcare journey.

01

Child Referrals for Treatment

We identify children in communities who are sick or living with conditions requiring specialist care — and navigate the referral process on their behalf, connecting them with the right hospitals, clinics, and medical professionals.

02

Hospital Bills & Medications

Financial barriers should never prevent a child from receiving treatment. We provide direct financial support for hospital bills, medications, and medical procedures — ensuring that cost is never the reason a child goes without care.

03

Recovery Support

Recovery after serious illness or surgery requires more than medicine. We support children through their recovery — providing nutritional support, follow-up care, rehabilitation resources, and emotional encouragement during their most vulnerable stages.

04

Collaborating With Health Organisations

No single organisation can solve the child health crisis alone. We partner with hospitals, NGOs, government health agencies, and faith-based medical teams to amplify our reach and ensure every child benefits from the best available care and expertise.

Root Challenges

Why Children Go Without Healthcare

Illness does not discriminate — but access to treatment often does. These are the barriers keeping sick children from care.

Financial Barriers

Hospital bills and medication costs are beyond what most families can afford, leaving children untreated for serious conditions.

No Referral Pathway

Many families have no knowledge of or access to specialist care, leaving children stuck at community level without the treatment they need.

Poor Recovery Support

After surgery or serious illness, children often return to the same environment with no nutritional or rehabilitation support to aid full recovery.

Fragmented Services

Disconnected health systems mean children fall through the gaps between services, with no single body coordinating their ongoing care.

"Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them." — James 5:14
